EAT | THE POTHOLDER CAFE

Joyce and I decided we needed a vacation. But since we only had two days, one night we decided to save our money for a getaway until we had a little more time and a couple more friends in town. So we had a LOCATION - a local vacation! haha. I saw a Groupon for hydrobiking and convinced Joyce we needed to go. The night before, we yelped places to eat breakfast/brunch (our favorite meal) and came across The Potholder Cafe. We saw the Mac Daddy Frankie which is a EIGHTEEN INCH pancake with 2 eggs and 2 bacon or sausage, and we were sold! Lately, for some reason we enjoy ordering large amounts of food and then challenging ourselves to finish it. This was a perfect opportunity for that!

ohemgee! look how big it is!
Mac Daddy Frankie with blueberries, scrambled eggs, and bacon (obviously)

Our server bought us huge pitchers of maple syrup and blueberry syrup. And bite after bite we ate it all. Just kidding! We didn't want to stuff ourselves right before biking so we packed the rest of it up. And then our waitress took a picture of us with empty plates for kicks. When you check-in with yelp $6.50 bottomless mimosas on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4PM. They have a huge menu with so many other options, we definitely can't wait to go back (especially because we already bought more hydrobiking Groupons)!

EAT | EAT AT RUDY'S

Last Sunday after church we really wanted to find a good breakfast place and after a quick yelp search, we ended up at Eat at Rudy's in Torrance. It was a tiny little place, with limited street parking (not the most ideal for our party of 14), but they were still able to find us tables pretty quickly. They sat us outside and it was perfect weather!
Everything looked so scrumptious on the menu! Allison and I decided to split a John Wayne which is a tortilla topped with home fries, two eggs, cheese, sausage, and spanish sauce (YUM!). We also wanted blueberry pancakes, but decided that it would be too much food. To our luck, instead of a side of toast, our waitress said we could get a pancake!!! And guess what?! We found one little blueberry inside! SCORE!!! :) The food came out super fast and it was DELICIOUS! We were scared it was going to be too spicy since one of the reviews on yelp said so, but it was not spicy at all... and we're pretty weak when it comes to spicy foods. haha. Wowzers! Look how close we were to the cars! and look how big the pancake was! Others in our group ordered omelettes and corn beef hash which were also really yummy! If you ever go, make sure you check out their daily specials on the little whiteboard at the front of the restaurant :) Happy eating!
